Managed Servers

Managed servers are provided with the Plesk control panel, which can be used to manage web and email hosting. Should root or Administrator access be required, it will be performed on request, providing it does not have an adverse effect on Plesk. Namesco take responsibility for managing security for all applications, as provided at setup. The customer is responsible for all additional applications installed thereafter. Essential updates will be installed by Namesco with prior notification being made to the customer. Non-essential updates may be requested by the customer and may be charged for. The server can also be returned to its original state as provided at setup, charged at the current setup price.

Unmanaged Servers

Unmanaged Linux severs are provided with the Webmin and root access via SSH. The customer takes responsibility for managing the security for the server and installing updates as required. Namesco can provide system administration, which will be charged at the current system administration hourly rate, with a minimum charge for 30 minutes and further charged in 30 minute increments. The server can also be returned to its original state as provided at setup, charged at the current setup price.

Firewalls

On managed servers, a software firewall can be purchased as part of the Plesk Power Pack and configured from the Plesk control panel. On unmanaged servers, the IP tables firewall can be setup for a one off charge of £99.99.

A Cisco 515 hardware firewall can be purchased for £199.99 per month. Further options are available on request.

Automated Remote Backups

Automated remote backups can be preformed daily and weekly and stored on a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device. Backup options are dependent on number of domains starting from £99.99 for daily backups and £49.99 for weekly backups. For a full description and price list, please click here.

Backup Mail

In the event that a server is not accepting mail, mail can be stored on a secondary mail server and forwarded to the primary server when it is accepting mail again (known as secondary MX and store and forwarding).
